May is quickly approaching and it’s an important month for Outdoor Adventures! The seasonal resorts, which are in Grand Haven, West Branch, Sterling, Omer, and Mount Pleasant, open on May 1! Memorial Weekend, which is the unofficial kickoff of summer, is at the end of the month. There is also a lot going on in between those dates, so we thought we’d share with you some ideas of fun stuff to do!
May 7-14 is Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan. This fun and beautiful festival happens only about 30 minutes from Grand Haven Resort, and it’s a a must-do!
May 21 and 22 is the Great Lakes Kite Festival in Grand Haven. You can catch a show of stunt kite fliers or you can fly your own kite!
May 6 kicks off the season for the Grand Haven Musical Fountain! You definitely have to check it out at least one in your life!
May in the Flint/Davison area bring lots of fun events at Crossroads Village, various theaters in the area, and more. Check out the local events calendar here!
Sidewalk Sales, card games, kids’ events, and more is happening in West Branch in May. Check out some ideas here!
There’s always a lot going on at Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish. Keep an eye on their website for entertainment and special events coming up!
Mount Pleasant offers a lot for visitors of all ages. Check out some ideas here! One of the biggest things happening there in May is graduation for Central Michigan University! May 6 and 7 are big days for students and parents alike! We know of several guests staying at Mount Pleasant Resort that weekend to attend the Commencement ceremonies. Congrats to all of you!
At all Outdoor Adventures resorts, May kicks off “peak season.” A fun part of this is the fact that all amenities open by Memorial Weekend. Pools, kayaks, putt putt, and more will be ready for you! Organized activities start at each resort on the same weekend! Check out the weekly themes here. We’re particularly excited that May brings the beginning of the first full season at Mount Pleasant Resort. We can’t wait to welcome lots of guests this year!
May 1 kicks off “summer hours” for our Reservations team as well. From May 1 through Labor Day, reservations will be taken from 8am to 8pm from Monday through Friday and from 9am to 5pm on Saturday.
