This June, we’re proud to spotlight Special Days Camps as part of our We Camp with Care campaign. For over 50 years, Special Days Camps has been creating safe, medically supervised camping experiences for children who have faced cancer and their families. Their mission is to provide a place where kids and siblings can just be kids—having fun, making friends, and building memories in a supportive environment.
Special Days Camps offers week-long summer camps and year-round events that help children and their families heal emotionally and create lasting connections. With dedicated medical staff on site, children with cancer can enjoy the outdoors and all the joys of camp without worry.
Family Camp: Healing and Connection for the Whole Family
Family Camp is a special program from Special Days Camps that offers more than a weekend retreat—it’s a safe, supportive space where families affected by childhood cancer can reconnect and heal together. When a child is diagnosed, the whole family feels the impact: parents become caregivers, siblings may feel overlooked, and the child with cancer can feel isolated. Family Camp brings everyone together to share joy, build bonds, and find strength in community.
With activities for kids, siblings, and chances for parents to connect with others who understand their journey, Family Camp creates lasting memories filled with laughter and hope. We were proud to host Special Days Camps’ first-ever Family Camp at our Lake Shore Resort in Davison last October. Over 120 family members joined this meaningful escape, and the support from our members was truly heartwarming. We’re excited to welcome them back this fall!
